UKAS Weight Calibration

UKAS Calibration Laboratory : 0438

This accreditation also meets the requirements of ISO 17025, BS EN ISO 9000, and EN 45000 for calibration.  In our environmentally controlled metrology laboratories, according to strict quality procedures we calibrate mass with traceability back to the National Standard. UKAS certificates are issued which show the measured value and uncertainty of measurement for OIML class weights.

Why Calibrate ?
Weight values can change over time due to atmospheric contamination or the instability of the material they are constructed from. Regular checks on the accuracy and the condition of your weights should be carried out, preferably traceable to recognised national standards which will satisfy any quality assurance requirements.

How can I tell the difference between E2 and F1 weights
As a rule of thumb F1 & F2 weights will have the denomination stamped on them. E2 weights will have no markings. Note : not all manufacturers follow these rules. If you are unsure please contact us for advice (please have your previous calibration certificate to hand if possible)

How to Order
Simply count the number of weights you would like to return and select the relevant order code. For example if you have a weight set with 10 F1 weights and 4 individual F1 weights to be calibrated, the total number of weights to be returned will be 14 weights. You then select "UKAS Calibration of 14 F1 or F2 weights".

Once you have completed the order process you then be sent a mass application form and order confirmation together with instructions on where to send the weights. Pack weights (Tip : put weight box in a plastic bag and seal, this avoids losing weight in packaging should box open) together with mass application form and send to us. The weights will then be calibrated and sent back to you with UKAS certification. Approx. turnaround time is 6 working days from receipt of the weights.

Carriage Charge
The customer is responsible for the cost of sending the weights to the laboratory. The cost of sending the weights back to you is included in the price.
